Used for: searching for a value in one field and then setting another field to this value if it is found.
The "find value" really comes in handy when your export channel needs to have information such as "color", "brand" or "size" in a separate field. A lot of times you have this information available in your product description, but not in a separate field. With the "find value" rule you can for example easily look for a list of colors in all of your product descriptions. If Channable then finds this color in your description, it can fill the field "color" with the color that was found.
In the screenshot below is shown how the example described above would look like in Channable.
In the example above your "color" field is set to the exact values that are typed in the "Find value" list. With the optional "replacement value" list you can set alternative values that will be used to fill the color field. For example, you might have some typos or different notations for the same color that you want to standardize to the same color notation. In that case you could use the replacement value column as shown in the screenshot below.
Note: When using the "replacement value" list, make sure you enter a replacement value on the same line for every value you have in the "find value" list. If you want to keep the same value as the value in the "find value" list, fill in the same value in the "replacement value" list. You either have to fill in the right list completely or you have to leave it empty (which preserves the values in the "find value" list).
