This article will help you to get your products on Bol.com. Make sure your products have valid EAN codes because without EAN codes, it is not possible to send products to Bol.com.
1) Log into Bol.com
Use the following link to log in to Bol.com
2) Create tokens
Now find the section "API keys voor productie" under your account > Instellingen > API instellingen. Click create new token. Copy the production public and private key (you will need this later).
3) Create new marketplace in Channable
To create a new marketplace connection click on the 'Marketplaces' panel on the left hand side of the screen. After you have done that, click 'Add new marketplace' and click "Add a new connection".
4) Create new connection
Now fill in the Public and Private key from the previous step, and click "Create".
5) Build your ads
Actually building your ads is very simple and fast. With our preset template all you have to do is to fill it out by clicking on the field itself and selecting what you would like to go in there. For instance, the field 'Title' should display the 'Title' of your product and so on. Notice the question mark behind every field, if you hover over the question mark you will see the description of the field and suggestions for possible values. When you have finished setting up the ads, just click 'save' on the bottom of the screen.
6) Settings page
Go to settings page, scroll down and check the checkbox "Ik gebruik de API voor het beheer van mijn aanbod" and click save. This is important to make sure all old offers are deleted from your account, which prevents errors.
Disclaimer: Setting this switch to 'ja' will delete existing ads from your account.
7) Send ads to Bol.com
Almost there, now you can send your products. If you have not activated your webshop just go to the 'settings' tab and click 'activate webshop'. After, go back to the Marketplaces tab, click on setting, then choose 'active - send products live' so they can be visible for everyone. After you have completed this step you can click the 'preview' tab.
If you have sent you ads to Bol.com go to the 'preview' tab. Click filter on 'error'. Now you can see which ads have errors and are not placed. See this page on how to correct errors.
9) Content data
As you might notice, Bol.com can produce errors regarding the product information for any products it isn't already familiar with. If you want to add these "unknown products / EANs" to Bol.com, you will have to fill in all information in the attribute builder (step 10.1) and make use of Bol.com's content FTPS option (step 10.2).
10.1) Attribute builder
For Bol.com, Channable has an 'Attribute Builder' tab in the Build phase. The Attribute Builder is a convenient feature that gives you a clear overview of that Marketplaces' required attributes per category. This is especially useful if you sell several different kinds of products that have very specific attribute requirements. You don't need to use the Attribute Builder for products that Bol.com already knows.
In the Attribute Builder tab you see an overview of every category to which you have assigned products. In the column to the right you see how many products are in each category. The categories in this list are sorted by the number of products that are assigned to them. This way, you can prioritize large categories that would be time-consuming to do manually.
Once you've selected a category, you will see an overview of all products in that category. Fields that are marked in red are required but missing in your data. You can click any column label that has the pencil logo in it.
This will open a window in which you can enter an attribute value. You can enter a value as plain-text by simply typing in the box. This value will then be the same for each field in this category. Alternatively, you can click the plus button and pick an attribute.
This way you can pick any field you like. This field applies to all products in the category as well: the difference is that a field value can be different for each product. The Attribute Builder comes after the Rules phase, so you can modify and add any field data to your heart's content.
Aside from using either fields or plain text, you can combine either of the two. While this is not very common, it can be useful if you for example need to add text before or after a field value and don't want to use a rule. You can also combine multiple fields.
Once you're done picking your field, you can hit save and you will see your changes right away. If you don't see anything happening, make sure the field you selected is not empty.
10.2) Sending content
If Bol.com needs more product information, you need to use their content FTPS solution to transfer this product information to Bol.com. With content FTPS we can send a content file with this additional product content to Bol.com, so that they can process it automatically. To make use of the content FTPS, you have to apply for a content FTPS account, Channable customers have to use the following form:
After filling in this form Bol.com will send you an email containing a user name and password for your content FTPS account. Then, you can add these credentials to the Bol.com connection. Go to 'Connections' via your name in the top right corner and edit your Bol.com connection.
Note I: With an enabled content FTPS account it can take up to 48 hours for the content to be processed by Bol.com, so if you think you've entered the correct content in the attribute builder, wait at least 48 hours before you check if your unknown products are accepted.
Note II: After the content is processed (max 48 hours) there will be a feedback Excel file available that shows possible mistakes in your Bol.com content. Please check this Excel file to see which product content still needs to be improved to get your unknown products / EANs approved for Bol.com.
